The Odisha Higher Education Department has extended the deadline for submitting the Common Application Form (CAF) for undergraduate (+3) admissions through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) to June 1, 2025, until 11:45 PM. This extension applies to all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the state, including self-financing and Sanskrit colleges.
Reasons for Extension
The extension was prompted by the delay in the declaration of the Class 12 (Plus II) examination results by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), which affected students’ ability to complete their applications. Additionally, the state government’s recent decision to provide 11.25% reservation to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) in undergraduate courses necessitated extra time for eligible candidates to obtain valid caste certificates.
Application and Correction Details
Candidates who have not yet applied can submit their CAFs on the official SAMS portal at by the extended deadline. For those who have already submitted their applications, the correction window is open until June 1, 2025, allowing applicants to make necessary edits to their forms.
Uploading Marks and Seat Allotment
Applicants who had previously selected the ‘appeared’ option due to pending results are advised to upload their Plus II marks by June 1, 2025. The schedule for the publication of provisional seat allotments and commencement of first-year classes will be announced in due course.
