The authorities have also issued a ‘yellow alert’, which signifies a “warning” and advises to “take action”, for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and several other districts in Maharashtra.

As reported by the news agency PTI, citing an official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, the island city of Mumbai, along with its eastern and western suburbs, recorded average rainfall of 37 mm, 15 mm, and 18 mm respectively in the 24 hours concluding at 8 am.
The Southwest Monsoon has progressed into the Arabian Sea.
The Indian Meteorological Department https://mausam.imd.gov.in/(IMD) announced on Sunday that the Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into additional regions of the west central and east central Arabian Sea.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, the IMD noted: “The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into additional areas of the west central and east central Arabian Sea, parts of Karnataka, the entirety of Goa, several regions of Maharashtra, further areas of the west central and northern Bay of Bengal, as well as parts of Mizoram, Manipur, and Nagaland today, the 25th of May, 2025.”
“The Northern Limit of Monsoon traverses through the coordinates 15.5°N/55°E, 15.5°N/60°E, 16°N/65°E, 16.5°N/70°E, Devgad, Belagavi, Haveri, Mandya, Dharmapuri, Chennai, 15°N/83°E, 18°N/87°E, 20°N/89°E, Aizawl, Kohima, 26.5°N/95°E, and 27°N/97°E,” the statement further elaborated.
