Mumbai, May 24: Actor Mukul Dev, renowned for his performances in films such as ‘Son of Sardaar’, ‘R… Rajkumar’, ‘Jai Ho’, among others, has sadly passed away at the age of 54.

The actor died on Friday night, and his friends arrived at his residence on Saturday upon learning of his passing. The cause of his death has not been determined at the time of this report. Additional information is pending, including statements from his friends and family.

Actress Deepshikha Nagpal, a close friend of his, confirmed the news via social media by sharing an Instagram Story along with a nostalgic photograph, captioned, “RIP.”

Mukul Dev, who was last seen in the Hindi film ‘Anth The End’, was the sibling of actor Rahul Dev.

Born in New Delhi to a Punjabi family with connections to a village near Jalandhar, Mukul’s father, Hari Dev, served as an assistant commissioner of police and introduced him to Afghan culture. His father was proficient in Pashto and Persian.

Mukul’s early introduction to the entertainment industry occurred in the eighth grade when he received his first paycheck for impersonating Michael Jackson during a dance show organized by Doordarshan.

Additionally, he was a trained pilot, having graduated from the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi.

He began his acting career with the television series ‘Mumkin’, portraying the character Vijay Pandey in 1996. He also appeared in Doordarshan’s ‘Ek Se Badh Kar Ek’, a comedic Bollywood countdown program.

Furthermore, he hosted the first season of ‘Fear Factor India’. His film career commenced with ‘Dastak’, where he played the role of ACP Rohit Malhotra, a film that also marked the debut of former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen.
